Today is Dame Diana Rigg’s birthday.
As Emma Peel in The Avengers she was most certainly my first TV crush.
She was also born in the same year as my mother.
Which makes this pretty messed up, in a way.
But here she is… happy birthday.

An early crush for me as well. As the nerd put it: “she kicks high”. My crush is much like Sophia Loren who is also of my mother’s generation and who I will always have a crush. I do not know her reputation in Italy, but for me she was pretty hot.

Sophia Loren in Italy is an institution, and she’s not a National Treasure simply because we don’t have National Treasures.
And she was quite hot inher day – even if I never liked her acting.

The most beautiful and sexy woman ever to appear on television. We watched the Avengers when it came to the US and on a 1970 trip to London, we talked with her after her performance in Abelard and Heloise; she was most gracious and so beautiful!.
