My birthday is coming up in ten days, and I’ve decided I’ll do something special for my Patrons – because they are my special fans, and I felt like giving them something different.
Why not use my 53rd birthday as an excuse?

In the last few weeks I have started a podcast, in Italian, together with my friend Lucy – basically we sit in front of a microphone and talk about our favorite horror/fantasy/thriller movies. We started with pandemic, post-apocalypse British flick Doomsday, from 2008, and continued with the classic 1972 BBC production of Nigel Kneale’s The Stone Tape. We’re having a lot of fun, and when I asked her, my partner-in-crime accepted to do a special episode of our ‘cast, exclusively for my Patrons.

And why not let them choose the movie?, I said.

And so, in these days, my patrons have been asked to decide which movie we will be discussing, among three I have proposed.
The three movies I selected based on a few simple criteria – they must be among my favorites (because hey, it’s my birthday!), they must be horror or thrillers, because that’s the topic of our podcast, and they must be readily available on Youtube – so that those who missed them will be able to check them out, better to pick one.

The three films are

Horror Express – a little known but absolutely brilliant Hammer-like horror movie set on the Transiberian at the turn of the century, and featuring Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, and Telly Savalas.

Captain Kronos, Vampire Hunter – a very late entry in the Hammer catalogue, this is a sword & sorcery/horror with a heavy influence from Spaghetti Westerns, and featuring the delectable Caroline Munro.

The Cat and the Canary – the 1978 remake of the original old dark house thriller; the original featured Bob Hope and Paulette Goddard, this one has Honor Blackman, Olivia Hussey, andf a large cast of British character actors.

What will my Patrons choose?
Ah, I am quite curious of seeing the results of the poll.

And because the podcast will be in Italian, I will also provide a translation/transcript in English for my English-speaking supporters.
