A few days back I was asked who’s this “Roderick Usher” that’s mentioned passingly in one of my BUSCAFUSCO stories.
I was also told that I shouldn’t put obscure references in my stories, because the readers like to know who’s we’re talking about.
I was quite taken aback, but, considering yesterday was Edgar Allan Poe’s birthday, here’s The Fall of the House of Usher, animated, and narrated by Christopher Lee.

I am think of no one who could’ve narrated that better than Christopher Lee. He was such talent.

They have won all over the place, and probably are still drunk after the celebration of their victory.

There are people who don’t recognise the name Roderick Usher?
They must be the same people who’d go with you, unsuspecting, if you invited them to a costume party, issued you with a jester’s cap and bells, quoted the motto “Nemo Me Impune Lacessit,” and invited you down into the cellars to check out a dubious cask of Amontillado.

😀
I was quite surprised at this fact.
If nothing else, Poe is required reading in school, The Fall of the House of Usher is usually given as a book to students, and even after many years the name should ring a bell (a funerary toll, probably).
