Tim Curry as the Pirate king

I’m sort of in a piratical mood, these days, and here’s a fine performance by the great Tim Curry, in the role of the Pirate King from Gilbert & Sullivan‘s Pirates of Penzance.

Enjoy!

The Saint

Ah, the joys of old time radio!
here’s an episode from the radio version of The Saint – based on the caper stories by Leslie Charteris.
While I’m quite familiar with the classic Roger Moore TV series, I just found out that no less than Vincent Price played the role of Simon Templar on the radio.
And indeed the witty tone of Price suits quite nicely the character.
Here’s an episode.
Enjoy!

A Night at the Opera

Blame Marx for my chronic inability to enjoy opera.
I can’t help it, I start laughing out loud whenever the guys on stage start singing.
I know, terribly rough and uncultured of me.
I guess I’ll never make it in polite society.
And the responsibility rests on the shoulders of the Marx Brothers.
I was ten years old when I first saw this – and it marked me for life.
