How wise is Amazon sometimes!
A lot wiser than we mere humans, indeed, and with a longer memory.
Yesterday I decided to buy me a copy of Matt Ruff’s novel Lovecraft Country. The HBO series starts tonight, and I’m very curious about it, so I thought – while I wait for the series, why not bring myself up to speed and check out the source material?

And so I went to Amazon, where I quickly found out that…
a . my credit card is in the red, because some expenses or other, and so I can’t buy me an ebook if I want
b . I already purchased Matt Ruff’s book, in 2018, and then forgot completely about it
And indeed, I dug into my reader and, hooray!, it was there all right.
Six bucks saved, and a book ready to read.
Nice and smooth.
I also trasferred some money to give some breath to my credit card – but yesterday being sunday and all that, it will take a few days.
Thank you, PostePay …
And here I could add a note for my American friends: hold on tight to your postal service, because once it goes private sector, it’s all downhill.
Really.
And so, today I’ll start Ruff’s book, and then I’ll wait for the HBO series, because I need a little intelligent horror in my life right now.
