City Beneath the Sea

Underwater action.
That’s what’s happening in my novel as I’m finally in sight of the finish line, and that’s what Irwin Allen was specialized in.
So here’s as a good luck token for my story, a pilot for a series called City Beneath the Sea, that sadly never happened.

It’s garish, somewhat preposterous and strongly influenced by classic Star Trek.
And yet, it’s pretty fun1.

Enjoy!

  1. and I must admit I’m intrigued by Cecile Ozorio as the security officer

Irwin Allen? The fellow of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea?

This reminds me of a wonderful movie with Vincent Price. The plot regarded a secret underwater city founded by Price itself, but under the threat of a mutant fish called Morbula….unfortunately, I don’t remember the title of the movie.

City in the Sea, aka War Gods of the Deep, a movie by Jacques Turneur.
      IMDB is your friend 😉

Hi, I’m the man formerly known as Verroinsaziabile. So, Davide, it took three years but I can finally thank you for your reply – I saw and enjoyed the movie later. I reached this old post by looking for some article about Heraklion/Thonis, the Egyptian sunken city, and I thought: the good ol’ Davide Mana shoul’ve written something about this! In any case, let me take advantage of this to thank you for your work of cultural dissemination (in 8 years of lurking, I learned a lot). You’re able to spread interesting and sometimes even poetic contents, just like the one about the winds of mars. i know that you’re slightly abandoning Strategie Evolutive, but even if I support and read Karavansara too, I’m emotionally bound to your old blog (and “tra le province” was good as well). I have just one last thing to say: never give up, even if the sky is darker than before. I wish you a 2o19 characterized by a greater economic stability.

          Thank you!
Strategie is slowly being downgraded, but I’ll keep posting there.
And I’ll try and keep posting about stuff I find stimulating, because somebody has to do it, and for readers like you.
          Thank you again!
