Huckleberry Finn’s Interdimensional Capers

I was talking about this with some online friends a few nights back – The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, a 1968 Hanna-Barbera live action/animation series I saw, in glorious black and white and dubbed in Italian… ah, probably in 1973 or ’74.

The premise is pretty, ehm, straightforward: Huck, Tom and Becky, pursued by Injunjoe, enter a complex of caves that happen to be…
Your guess is as good as mine – I’d say interdimensional gateways to parallel universes.

Weird?
You bet.
Fun?
Quite.

Here’s a snippet of a vaguely Wilkie Collins-esque episode.
You find the rest on Youtube.

Enjoy!

Behind the Scenes at Dark Adventure Radio Theatre

Yes, I’m still toying with the idea of creating an audio drama of sorts.
Who knows, by 2025…

As I was collecting resources and information about production and stuff, I stumbled on this behind-the-scenes from the fine guys producing the Dark Adventure Radio Theatre audio-dramas.

The last time I listened tpo one of their works as I was driving, I missed my exit and drove about 150 extra kms.
Yes, they are that good.

Enjoy!

I Love Paris (when it sizzles)

Georgia Gibbs

Georgia Gibbs

OK, last bit of my Parisian week – I Love Paris (when it sizzles) is a song by Cole Porter, published in 1953. It was part of the musical Can Can.
The song inspired the title of the Hepburn-Holden movie and… ehm, my Parisian pinboard.

Through the years this song has been performed by a number of artists, most famously by Ella Fitzgerald, in 1956.
But there’s also a Les Baxter version out there!

What follows, anyway, is the Georgia Gibbs version from 1953, in a strangely dark and rough arrangement.

Enjoy!
