“Going spaceship”

Today I did a massive supply run, and secured roughly 30 meals for two, including four “specials”, for Christmas and New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Thankfully I had a friend with me, because bringing it all back home would have been complicated.
Now that the pantry is full, we can lock ourselves up and “go spaceship” – we’ll be self-contained and self-sufficient for the next weeks, limiting our time outside to a quick walk once in a while to keep ourselves active, but mostly we’ll eat, sleep, read and write.

On the reading front, I’ve a few good books to check out.
I’ve just got as a present the last trilogy in the Chronicle of the Dread Empire, by Glen Cook. It might be the right time to go through the whole series in chronological order.
And after watching the short movie about Basil & Moebius that I shared on Monday, I got me two of the ebooks on the series, and I really look forward to get into them.
And I’ve got two very good non-fiction books, including a thick volume on How to be a Tudor. Might bring some inspiration for new stories.

On the writing front, I’ve three stories aligned, and I’d love to get to submit a few shorts to magazines before the end of the year – I( will not make the target of 100 submissions in 202 (I’ll save that for 2021), but I might get to 90 with a little effort.

And then we’ll probably game online with our friends, and we might spend Christmas’ Eve playing Tales of Evil with my brother, because it would be fun. But we might also go for Arkham Horror on New Year’s Eve.

And I still have two episodes of Paura & Delirio to co-host, and they are going to be great.
We’re doing a horror musical next, and then a veritable Holiday Special for New Year’s Eve.

I usually try and get a concert for the last night of the year, and I’m still looking for a suitable online event to stream while we wait for midnight and finally archive this strange, horrible year.

So, our spaceship is about to launch.
I’ll keep you posted.
