You know what?
I really miss Aculeo & Amunet – the guys are like old friends, I like hanging out with them and writing their stories.
And, granted, right now I have a lot of stuff on my plate – so much to do and write, and other things too, actually, that I am afraid I stretched myself too thin.
But yesterday, you see, I saw this on a friend’s blog…1
It’s by Carlos Valenzuela, and it’s gorgeous (in case you didn’t notice).
And I said to myself…
… What if I started working on that long novella I had planned and roughly outlined last years?
Yes, the one with Aculeo, Amunet and mummies.
And I’ve just acquired this nice, quick-and-dirty book about Ramses…
So ok, I’ll start properly outlining and researching the novella.
Then we’ll see what happens.
There will be mummies, undead sorcerers, Aegyptian curses, lost treasure and possibly – just possibly – Centurion Britannicus and his boys.
Something in the 25.000/30.000 words range would be nice.
Who needs sleeping anyway?
It’s a new year, right?
Like a blank slate and all that…
- you’ll find it here – use Google Translate for the text… you’ll thank me later. ↩

It will be my “vacation” during the next month of full-time, high speed writing.
Whenever I’ll need a break, I’ll go check how Aculeo and Amunet are doing.
Can’t promise this story will happen anytime soon, but it will happen.
